CFCC Ewers Century Center |  | You may have seen articles on the new Florida Back to Work Initiative. Workforce Connection was the first Workforce Board in the state to access these special stimulus funds. The EDC was proud to play a role in the pilot with the Dept. of Children and Families Call Center which resulted in 76 new temporary jobs in our region.
At this juncture, Workforce Connection is pleased to announce they are now offering subsidized employment funds for permanent private sector job expansion. The EDC considers this a powerful tool to assist with business recruitment and expansion, and a viable way to create new jobs as we face tremendous unemployment in our community.
This opportunity comes at the perfect time, as employers are hopeful for an upturn in the economy. The unique grant funding will subsidize 100% of the wages and 80% of the non-wage costs through September 30, 2010 for eligible low income applicants.
