Munroe Regional Medical Center is Marion County's locally owned, not-for-profit, acute care community hospital and has been serving the residents of Marion County and surrounding communities for 112 years.  It is the largest private sector employer in Marion County. The medical center has 421 licensed beds, 2,500 associates, 450 physicians and 1,700 volunteers.  Munroe Regional admits over 24,000 patients each year, treats over 96,000 in three emergency departments, and sees another 51,000 for other outpatient needs. 

Located on SR 200, Munroe’s Emergency Center at TimberRidge is a full-service emergency care center that is open 24 hours a day and is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians. Part of Munroe Regional’s Emergency Department, the Center sees over 23,500 patients a year and offers a full range of emergency department services.

Ocala Health System is the health organization which encompasses Ocala Regional Medical Center, a 200-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, and West Marion Community Hospital, a 70-bed hospital located in West Marion County. The organization includes the only Commission on Cancer approved cancer center in Marion County and is directly affiliated with the H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center and Research Institute.  The hospitals offer a host of other quality and award winning services including the #1 rated bariatric center in the state of Florida by HealthGrades®, cardiac and vascular services including open heart surgery and interventional procedures, emergency, neurological and rehabilitation services including neurosurgery and cardiac rehab, and a variety of outpatient services. 

Radiology Associates of Ocala offers the latest advances in medical imaging including digital mammography, breast MRI, PET/CT and stereotactic breast biopsy. Their team of specialty trained radiologists service three Medical Imaging Center locations, TimberRidge Imaging Center and staff all three local hospitals. The Women’s Imaging Center and TimberRidge Imaging Center have the prestigious designation of ACR Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence.

The Vines Hospital offers an excellent array of services for children, adolescents, adults, or mature adults dealing with Substance Abuse or Psychiatric Illness.  The 95-bed facility specializes in treatments such as Detox, Acute Care, Inpatient,  Residential, Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient Services. 

The Centers, founded in 1972 and fully accredited by The Joint Commission, offers a full continuum of mental health and substance abuse services to help people of all ages reach their highest level of functioning. With recent expansions, The Centers houses 57 Acute Care beds, 50 Adult Residential Substance Abuse beds, and 15 Adolescent Residential Substance Abuse beds. With over 800 different services available to the community everyday, The Centers is Rebuilding Hope for the community’s most vulnerable citizens.

Hospice of Marion County, Inc., a not-for-profit locally operated organization, has provided compassionate end-of-life care for patients and their families since 1983. Patients may receive services in their own home, assisted living facility, nursing home or in one of their four hospice houses located throughout Marion County. The Legacy House, Estelle’s House, Sylvia’s House and The Tuscany House have a total of 64 beds, and provide high-level acute inpatient and routine care. Hospice of Marion County, Inc. is the County’s third largest healthcare company.
