Marion County Unemployment Rate Continues To Drop
Saturday, March 24th, 2012The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity released the State’s unemployment figures today showing the rate continued to drop in February to 10.8% down from 11.8% in November for Marion County.
The figures rank Marion County and Hamilton County at sixth in the state for the highest unemployment rates. Flagler is first with 12.7%, followed by Hernando at 12.1%, Hendry at 11.7 %, St. Lucie at 11.4%, and Dixie and Putnam Counties at 11.2%.
Marion County’s current labor force stands at 132,669 with 118,397 employed and 14,272 unemployed.
